This is a tough one, I was working with my cousin Azimpuch for this couple’s engagement+wedding cococombo ceremony for one day. While me, skipped one day of sleep traveling from Rawang to PJ to Port Klang to PJ then back to Rawang afterwards to Bangi in one day, phew! Managed to drive myself to the bride’s solely by the printing out Google Map directions, maybe not a great deal to others but I have a poor sense of direction hehe. To my embarrassment, I lack information about the couple’s I mistakenly photograph her younger sister thinking that she’s the bride. HAHAHA, i know. This is the first half of the 8 hours ceremony. Shizzz, I’m gonna miss my old D70s :( Selling this baby off to make way for something new to fill in my camera bag *grins* Too many good shots just because the place and lighting was oso perfect!  I really enjoyed this one, until I dozed off in between the ceremony that is, fish. Owh and guys, I’m available for bookings with my revised new year price! Drop me a call to know the details.

HOW TO: Photograph a perfume bottle.

Posted in HOW TO; by shineyshine on February 15, 2010

This guide will show you how to photograph a perfume bottle done right. If you followed my previous HOW TO, the same concept applies. The lighting will be based on the subject matter, is it transparent, non-transparent or reflective. In this case, my perfume bottle is transparent. The key to photograph transparent object it to light up the background, because the transparent element of the bottle will light up the inside of the bottle. The new twist to this one, we want to achieve the toning effect, where it is not useful when you use a square softbox because the edge is too straight and the line will appear sharp. If you refer back to my previous HOW TO photograph bottle, check the highlights on the bottle. It is perfectly sharp and straight. We dont want that here, we want a perfectly diffused tone from highlights to shadow.

The hand.

I went out to Bandar Baru Selangor to photograph the groom’s side of the engagement. Lets just say the day didnt go as planned but it was really something though. I arrived an hour early, I was pretty anxious about the whole deal. First, I do not have a clue on the ethics and ceremonial process at all. Well, there will be always a first for everything right?. Actually, this job was handed to me by a good respected friend of mine Uncle Ken, he and his wife own a camera shop in Jaya 33. The experience was very pleasant, its been a while since I’ve learned new things about other cultures. Looking forward to the next one :)
